Melbourne IT appoints new head of Enterprise Services
Experienced industry leader Peter Wright joins as Executive General Manager of Melbourne IT Enterprise Services
Melbourne, Australia - 17 February 2011 - Melbourne IT (ASX: MLB) today appointed Peter Wright as the new Executive General Manager of Melbourne IT Enterprise Services.
Wright joins Melbourne IT with more than 28 years experience in the Australian technology industry at companies including Optus, Alphawest, Telstra and Qantas. His most recent role was with REA Group where he was General Manager Sales and Operations, driving strong sales growth and managing a team of more than 200.

His strong sales and management background, coupled with an enviable track record of consistently increasing sales revenues, ideally places Peter to lead our Enterprise Services business' next wave of growth," Melbourne IT CEO and Managing Director, Theo Hnarakis, said.
At REA Group, Wright led the development of the sales team and the broadening of the business model to service a wider range of market segments, resulting in superior revenue and margin growth.
Prior to REA Group, he spent 13 years in various senior positions at Optus where he played a leadership role in growing the Optus managed services team and integrating the team into Alphawest, where he spent his final two years as Northern Region General Manager.
Wright began his career with Telstra and also worked for several years at Qantas' IT arm, Qantek (now Qantas Information Technology).
His appointment as Executive General Manager is effective from February 21st 2011.
